Job summary

WhiteWater West in Richmond, BC, is seeking a Junior SolidWorks and Systems Support Engineer on an 18-month contract. The role provides technical support for engineering systems and requires hands-on SolidWorks experience.

You will work with CAD/PLM providers, participate in upgrades, document configurations, and help ensure system stability and performance for engineering, design, and manufacturing teams. The location is Richmond, BC, with HQ relocation to Vancouver in 2027.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree from a recognized university.
• Eligible for registration as an EIT or P.Eng. with EGBC.
• Hands-on SolidWorks experience.
• Experience with CAD, PLM, ERP, or BIM systems.
• Software development and customization experience using VB, C#, and SQL would be assets.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support, including troubleshooting and training assistance for users of the engineering systems.
• Become a subject-matter expert in SolidWorks and custom engineering applications to support users effectively.
• Liaise with software authors (CAD and PLM providers) to address bugs, functionality deficiencies, and enhancement requests.
• Participate in upgrades, patches, and system improvements with a focus on stability, scalability, and user impact.
• Create and maintain clear, comprehensive user-facing application and system configuration documentation.
• Contribute to software development efforts using established IT standards for coding, version control, and change management.
• Define and align goals with departmental goals then ensure performance feedback is completed through performance reviews.
• Execute responsibilities in a safe, professional manner in accordance with the law and accepted ethical standards.
