WhiteWater in Richmond, BC seeks a Junior AutoCAD and Systems Support Engineer on an 18‑month contract. The IT department will support engineering systems, ensuring availability while troubleshooting user issues.

You will learn and customize CAD and PLM tools, while collaborating with software authors to address bugs and performance needs. You’ll contribute to upgrades, document configurations, and support system improvements with a focus on stability and user impact.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an engineering degree from a recognized university.
  • Eligible for registration as an EIT or P.Eng. with EGBC.
  • Hands on experience with AutoCAD; similar CAD software is an asset.
  • Solid foundation in engineering principles and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Software development and customization experience using Visual Basic, C#, and SQL is an asset.
  • Experience supporting or integrating CAD, PLM, ERP, or BIM systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting and training for engineering system users.
  • Become a subject-matter expert in AutoCAD and related engineering applications.
  • Liaise with CAD/PLM software authors to address bugs and enhancements.
  • Participate in upgrades, patches, and system improvements for stability and scalability.

  • Contribute to software development efforts following IT standards.

Position AutoCAD and Systems Support Engineer, Junior (18 Month Contract)

Shift: 40 hours | Full-time

Location Richmond, BC, Canada (HQ relocating to Vancouver in 2027)

Reports to IT Engineering Systems Manager

The IT Engineering Systems Team’s mandate is to develop and implement structured but flexible processes and software solutions to support a wide variety of multidisciplinary engineering, design, data, and configuration management problems associated with waterpark design and manufacturing. These solutions bring a high degree of visibility, accountability, and control to corporate engineering and its integration with manufacturing and business processes.

The Junior AutoCAD and Systems Support Engineer is responsible for the continuous availability of the engineering systems and troubleshooting user issues. Learning, maintaining, and customizing the various engineering systems is a key job function.

YOUR ROLE
  • Provide technical support, including troubleshooting and training assistance for users of the engineering systems.
  • Become a subject-matter expert in AutoCAD and custom engineering applications to support users effectively.
  • Liaise with software authors (CAD and PLM providers) to address bugs, functionality deficiencies, and enhancement requests.
  • Participate in upgrades, patches, and system improvements with a focus on stability, scalability, and user impact.
  • Create and maintain clear, comprehensive user-facing application and system configuration documentation.
  • Contribute to software development efforts using established IT standards for coding, version control, and change management.
  • Define and align goals with departmental goals then ensure performance feedback is completed through performance reviews.
  • Execute responsibilities in a safe, professional manner in accordance with the law and accepted ethical standards.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Must be legally allowed to work in Canada.
  • Completion of an engineering degree from a recognized university.
  • Eligible for registration as an EIT or P.Eng. with EGBC
  • Hands on experience with AutoCAD. Similar CAD software experience would be considered an asset.
  • Solid foundation in engineering principles and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Software development and customization experience using Visual Basic, C#, and SQL would be considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting or integrating CAD, PLM, ERP, or BIM systems.
