Job summary

Dawninfotek is seeking an API Engineer to design, develop, and maintain APIs using IBM API Connect (APIC) and related technologies.

You will manage the full API lifecycle, configure API Gateway policies, and integrate with backend systems while ensuring security standards such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, and TLS. Collaboration with DevOps and architects is essential. The role requires 1–3 years of APIC experience and familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years hands-on experience with IBM API Connect (APIC) and DataPower Gateway.
• Strong knowledge of REST, SOAP, JSON, XML and API design.
• Proficiency in API security protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, LDAP, SAML).
• Experience in backend development with JavaScript/Node.js/Java/Python.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized environments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).

Responsibilities

• Monitor API usage, troubleshoot performance issues, and optimize for scalability.
• Document APIs and provide developer portals for external/internal consumers.
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
