Job summary

IBM seeks an API Connect (APIC) Developer in Toronto to design, build, and maintain enterprise APIs using APIC and DataPower. You will manage the full lifecycle, implement gateway policies, and integrate with backend systems while ensuring security and scalability.

Responsibilities include continuous deployment, monitoring, and documentation, collaborating with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business needs into robust API solutions.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with IBM API Connect (APIC) and DataPower Gateway.
• Strong knowledge of REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and API design best practices.
• Proficiency in API security protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, LDAP, SAML).
• Experience in JavaScript, and Node.js, Java, or Python for backend API development.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized environments (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
