Job description

Junior Series Lead

AtkinsRéalis is one of Canada's largest private sector nuclear engineering groups, providing a wide range of services to the nuclear industry in Canada and globally for over 60 years. We are proud to steward Canadian CANDU nuclear technology.

Location – Pickering, ON

The Series Lead is responsible for planning the work of an entire series, ensuring that all technical and process requirements are well understood and documented by construction. They are experienced professionals who have previously performed work within their series. They report to the Integration Manager for functional purposes and to the Area Manager for daily activities and scope planning.

Your role within the team:

  • Plan the series and defined scopes of work, including large numbers of Comprehensive Work Packages, ensuring they meet all design and technical requirements while remaining simple and executable.
  • Prepare and verify work plans in cooperation with construction leads.
  • Schedule tasks supporting Owner support as needed.
  • Ensure TCR/MOU and supporting documentation are in place for modifications.
  • Oversee that Construction, Inspection, and Test Plans (CITPs) meet all requirements and are understandable by field leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with fabrication, installation, and construction standards, including CSA N286.3 and CAN/CSA-N285.06.
  • Collaborate with engineering and construction to maintain linkage between design, constructability, and execution.
  • Maintain documentation, QA/QC execution, and RTS efforts.
  • Oversee CITP execution and work sequencing.
  • Manage look-ahead planning processes and ensure QA/QC resources are available.
  • Identify, report, and secure approval for deviations from design documents before construction.
  • Support construction activities in accordance with policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Uphold high standards for product quality and conformance from staff and subcontractors.
  • Manage resources within budget, including staffing and variance resolution.
  • Participate in assessing and delivering training needs.
  • Provide technical support, leadership, and ensure success of assigned RFR scope.
  • Act as a first line of escalation for technical issues, escalating to the Area Manager as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain interfaces with internal groups, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Experience with containment isolations, retube, and feeder replacement (asset).
