Job summary

Arc’teryx in North Vancouver is seeking a Designer 1 - Men's Run to support a design team in delivering Run apparel aligned with our design philosophies. The role focuses on evolving Run concepts, creating patterns, prototypes, and technical specs, while ensuring designs fit within existing collections.

The position requires a degree in apparel design and 3+ years’ experience, with proficiency in Adobe Suite, CLO3D, Illustrator, and pattern software. On-site work in Canada is expected.

Qualifications

  • Degree in apparel design and 3+ years hands-on experience designing clothing and textile-based products.
  • Proficient with pattern development, sewing, and garment construction.
  • Technical proficiency with Adobe Suite, CLO3D and pattern software (Gerber/ equivalents).
  • Ability to create patterns, mock-ups, prototypes and detailed spec drawings.
  • Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and collaborative mindset in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design team with note taking during materials development, fittings, and design stage gates/reviews.
  • Contribute to execution of projects within seasonal timelines and align with collections.
  • Create patterns, mock-ups, prototypes and explore new construction techniques.
  • Prepare detailed spec drawings, fit directions and fabric information for product development.
  • Maintain up-to-date product illustrations throughout development.
  • Coordinate with materials team to test new materials for prototyping.
