Job summary

ARC’TERYX in North Vancouver, Canada, is seeking a Designer 2, Women’s, to design for Veilance with a focus on women’s product. You will design innovative, user-centric solutions for city environments and collaborate with cross-functional teams on patterns, materials, and construction techniques.

You will contribute to mood boards, consumer journeys, and market analysis while supporting senior leaders and ensuring commercialized product through scholarly pattern work and prototyping.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design (Apparel or Industrial, or Textile Engineering) is required.
  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience designing apparel products with a focus on women’s product.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute assigned product designs with senior leaders that are future oriented and user-centric.
  • Define guest needs through mood boards, consumer journeys, and market analysis.
  • Contribute to commercialization of innovative technologies, materials, patterns, and construction techniques.
  • Create patterns, mockups, and prototypes to explore and prove concepts.
  • Provide detailed product initiations with spec drawings, pattern/fit directions, and material information.
  • Collaborate with Fit & Pattern team to resolve fit issues and ensure commercialized products.
  • Coordinate with Materials team to test new materials for prototyping.
  • Develop understanding of materials and manufacturing techniques Veilance uses.
  • Collaborate with other Designers to bring new toolbox solutions to the brand.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends.
  • Assist with design changes to address in-line production issues.
  • Support Design Director/Senior Designers in line flow planning and milestones.
  • Partner with Development and Merchandising on concepting and prototyping for seasonal products.
