Job summary

LAPORTE is seeking a Refrigeration Engineer in Saskatoon, SK, with 1–2 years of experience in industrial refrigeration system design and analysis. The role involves design and analysis, CAD drafting, and collaboration with teams to deliver projects for food, pharmaceutical, and biotech sectors.

The position is hybrid and available across Canada; travel may be required, and candidate must hold or be eligible for P.Eng or EIT status.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in industrial refrigeration design and analysis.
• Canadian professional engineer status (P.Eng or EIT) or on-track for status.
• Familiarity with ammonia and CO2 refrigeration systems.
• Knowledge of refrigeration piping codes and standards.
• Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work independently and with teams.
• Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets; strong documentation habits.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Plant3D, and P&ID is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze refrigeration plants and systems.
• CAD drafting of refrigeration schematics and layouts (AutoCAD).
• Supervise drafting in Revit/Plant3D.
• Conduct safety and code compliance audits.
• Develop SOPs, HAZOPs, and other safety analyses.
• Conduct site inspections of refrigeration systems.
• Prepare specifications, proposals, and reports.
• Organize and maintain project records.
• Support and build client relationships; collaborate across teams.
