Job summary
LAPORTE in Toronto, Ontario, seeks a Refrigeration Engineer with 1 to 2 years of experience in industrial refrigeration design and analysis. Join a multidisciplinary engineering firm delivering high-value services to pharma, food & beverage, and biotech sectors.

Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of experience in industrial refrigeration system design and analysis.
- Member of a Canadian provincial Engineering Association either as P.Eng or EIT.
- Familiarity with ammonia and CO2 refrigeration systems.
- Knowledge of refrigeration and piping codes and standards.
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in technology-driven communication tools.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Energetic, motivated, and solutions-oriented.
- Ability to travel internationally.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Plant3D, and P&ID software packages (an asset).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on the design and analysis of refrigeration plants and systems.
- Perform CAD drafting of refrigeration system schematics and layouts in AutoCAD.
- Supervise and perform drafting of refrigeration system schematics and layouts in Revit and/or Plant3D.
- Conduct safety and code compliance audits.
- Participate in developing refrigeration-related SOPs, HAZOPS, and other safety analyses.
- Conduct site inspections of refrigeration systems.
- Write, format, and proofread specifications, proposals, reports, templates, and other documents.
- Organize and maintain project records.
- Provide support and build relationships with new and existing clients.
- Collaborate with internal and external team members to ensure project success.
