Job summary

Buildforth by Paradigm is seeking an early-career Project Coordinator to lead smaller residential and mixed-use projects under mentorship from seasoned Project Managers and the Director of Projects.

You will travel across British Columbia, collaborate with design, engineering, and fabrication teams, manage budgets and schedules, and help ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery while growing a solid PM foundation.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or working toward completion).
• 1–3 years in construction, project coordination, site administration, or related role.
• Developing understanding of contracts, permitting, and project sequencing.
• Exposure to PM software such as Procore or MS Project is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across BC.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of project delivery for assigned smaller projects, with mentorship from Project Managers and the Director of Projects.
• Develop and manage budgets, schedules, scopes of work, and subcontracts for assigned projects.
• Oversee procurement, and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Track milestones, critical paths, and deliverables, and flag risks to the Director of Projects.
• Direct site teams, subcontractors, and consultants with support from senior PMs.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, and fabrication teams to align objectives.
• Coordinate between fabrication and site teams to support seamless execution.
• Track project budgets, forecast costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Review invoices, change orders, and progress claims for accuracy.
• Act as the primary contact for clients, consultants, and internal teams.
• Lead project meetings and ensure effective stakeholder communication.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies with input from leadership.
• Ensure compliance with contractual, safety, and regulatory requirements.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or working toward completion.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in construction, project coordination, site administration, or a related role; strong potential and relevant education can offset limited experience.
• Developing understanding of construction contracts, permitting processes, and project sequencing.
• Exposure to project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, or similar) is an asset.
• Progress toward, or completion of, a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and documentation skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Clear, professional communication skills, with the confidence to coordinate across clients, trades, and internal teams.
• Sound problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• A collaborative mindset, with a genuine interest in learning from experienced Project Managers and site leaders.
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel regularly to project sites and offices throughout British Columbia.
