Job summary

Build forth by Paradigm invites an experienced Foreperson to lead skilled crews on active construction projects across British Columbia. This role emphasizes daily site leadership, coordination, quality, safety, and hands-on carpentry to keep work moving efficiently.

You will oversee installation of prefabricated panels, coordinate layouts, deliveries, crane-assisted erection, and ensure components are installed safely and accurately.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of carpentry or related construction experience, including two+ years leading crews.
  • Strong framing and general carpentry skills with ability to read drawings and check work for accuracy.
  • Experience with prefabricated/panelized construction or wall-panel installation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and motivate employees, apprentices, subcontractors, and trades to complete priorities safely and efficiently.
  • Plan crew activities, assign work, and coordinate with leadership on priorities and constraints.
  • Lead the installation of prefabricated wall-panel systems and other building components.
  • Coordinate panel deliveries, staging, lifting plans, crane activities, and safe work zones.
  • Review blueprints, shop drawings, and project schedules to ensure accurate installations.

Buildforth by Paradigm is hiring an experienced Foreperson to lead crews on active construction projects throughout British Columbia. This role combines daily site leadership, coordination, quality control, safety oversight, and hands‑on carpentry for a practical leader who can keep work moving.

A key part of the role is leading the installation of prefabricated panelling systems produced within the Paradigm Group. You will coordinate layouts, deliveries, crane‑assisted erection, temporary bracing, structural connections, and corrections so building components are installed safely and accurately.

AT A GLANCE

  • CAD 37.00-42.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
  • Travel to active projects throughout British Columbia
  • Typical 10-12 hour shifts, with overtime based on project schedules

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Lead, direct, and motivate employees, apprentices, subcontractors, and trades to complete daily priorities safely and efficiently.
  • Plan crew activities, assign work, maintain short‑term look‑aheads, and coordinate with the Superintendent or Project Manager on priorities and constraints.
  • Lead the receiving, layout, installation, alignment, bracing, fastening, and connection of prefabricated wall‑panel and other panelling systems.
  • Coordinate panel deliveries, staging, lifting plans, crane activities, sequencing, and safe work zones.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, panel layouts, connection details, building plans, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Verify panel locations, dimensions, openings, structural connections, plumb, level, fit, and weather‑protection details before and during installation.
  • Monitor workmanship and ensure panel installations, framing, floor and roof systems, openings, exterior components, and finishes meet drawings, codes, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Identify site issues and deficiencies early, develop practical solutions, and coordinate corrections.
  • Perform hands‑on carpentry and installation work as required to support the crew and maintain production.
  • Coordinate materials, tools, equipment, and deliveries to keep the site organized and productive.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, enforce safety requirements, confirm appropriate PPE, and model safe work practices.
  • Complete daily reports, timesheets, progress updates, material tracking, and other required site documentation.
  • Coach employees and apprentices and provide clear, constructive feedback.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Three to five years of carpentry or directly related construction experience, including two or more years leading crews or supervising construction work.
  • Strong framing and general carpentry skills, with confidence reading drawings, completing layouts, and checking work for accuracy.
  • Experience with prefabricated or panelized construction, wall‑panel installation, crane‑assisted erection, modular construction, or similar building systems is strongly preferred.
  • Carpentry apprenticeship training, Red Seal, or Journeyperson Carpenter certification is an asset.
  • Strong planning, communication, coaching, documentation, and practical problem‑solving skills, with working knowledge of codes, sequencing, building‑envelope principles, quality, and safety.
  • Fall Protection, First Aid, crane or rigging experience, and other relevant certifications are assets.
  • Ability to safely use carpentry tools and equipment and complete the physical requirements of active construction‑site work.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, work extended shifts, and adapt to project schedules and changing site conditions.
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation are preferred.
