Equinox Engineering Ltd. is a Calgary-based EPCM firm. We are a market leader in oil and gas processing specializing in facilities design, implementation and operational assistance for natural gas, conventional oil, heavy oil and carbon capture projects. Our clients include several of the largest oil and gas producers in Canada and worldwide, and we are currently executing a wide range of sweet gas, sour gas, conventional oil and heavy oil facility and pipeline projects.
Summary:
The Junior Piping Engineer supports and executes all aspects of Piping Engineering activities within the department. Ensures Piping Engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established objectives. Supports the Piping Engineering team across our global offices, including Canada, Australia, USA, and India.
Key Responsibilities
- Support execution of deliverables for piping design, specification, and installation.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of Piping Engineering deliverables working with senior engineers to maintain Equinox quality requirements.
- Assist execution of project deliverables including but not limited to piping specifications, line designation tables, isometric and general arrangement drawings, material requisitions, and specialty item specifications.
- Contribute to project documentation including reports, purchasing documents, and calculations.
- Interface with Piping Design Drafting department to ensure efficient delivery of optimized piping arrangements.
- Liaise with Stress, Mechanical, Supply Chain and Project Management to support completion of project deliverables.
- Field reviews of piping system installations, as-building piping systems under the supervision of senior staff.
- Coordinate RFI responses related to piping systems.
- Support development and implementation of project specifications.
- Demonstrate commitment to the Health and Safety program.

- Familiarity with materials requisitions and supply chain management systems and procedures is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Pipeline Operations is considered an asset.
Education & Qualifications
- Successful candidate will be eligible for E.I.T. status with APEGA.
- Possess a Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering degree from an accredited institution recognized by APEGA.
- Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada at the time of application
- Oil and gas design, operations, or integrity experience is considered an asset.
- Experience in CAD and 3D piping modelling is considered an asset.
