Position Description

Currently, Tetranex is seeking a full-time Intermediate Piping Designer.

Responsibilities

• Work within a multidisciplinary project team of designers and ensure interdisciplinary co-ordination when developing 3D models.
• Develop piping models in a 3D environment under the guidance of a senior or design lead (Plant 3D and CADWorx experience an asset).
• Conduct internal review of the model using Navisworks and create 3D models of moderate to advanced complexity.
• Assist in the development of project design, drafting deliverables and project work packages including, but not limited to, piping isometrics, general arrangement drawings, bill of materials, plot plans and other piping deliverables.
• Interfacing with other engineering disciplines to incorporate design elements and vendor data such as equipment location, piping routing, structural steel, foundations, cable trays, inline instruments.
• Quality assurance and support of project schedule input and progress tracking.
• Communication and coordination with department and project team members as required.
• Review vendor documentation to a level required for project execution.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5-10 years experience in design applications in support of energy sector projects.
• Diploma or certificate in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or related technical discipline.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others.
• Strong work ethic as well as analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in team environments.
• Bluebeam Revu experience required.
• Understanding of industry regulatory codes and standards.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of Plant 3D and/or CADWorx, AutoPLANT and Navisworks.
• Detailed knowledge of piping systems, and ability to interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID).
