What You Would Do In This Role

The Intermediate Structural Designer prepares complex drawings and charts specific to Civil, Structural & Architectural disciplines.

The role involves assisting in the design of energy industry-related projects from inception to completion.

Duties include:

• Producing complex drawings and charts involving planning, layout, bill of materials, etc., for major installations.
• Designing and detailing new components based on previous designs, engineering instructions, codes, and standards.
• Developing designs of limited scope and complexity requiring theoretical and practical knowledge.
• Assisting during construction and checking work of less experienced personnel.
• Reporting progress and analyzing design elements for feasibility and compliance.
• Ensuring drawings meet company and client standards.
• Drafting 2D drawings, charts, schedules, and creating 3D models based on engineers’ sketches.
• Working with senior designers on complex structural engineering tasks.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Four years of progressive experience in facilities engineering and design in the energy industry.
• Technical certification or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, CADWorx, SmartPlant, AutoPLANT, AVEVA, ProSteel.
• Basic understanding of regulations and codes.
• Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet safety requirements for site visits.

Preferred

• Five years of experience in a designer role, preferably in the energy sector.
