What You Would Do in This Role

The Junior Piping Designer assists in preparing design documents and drawings specific to their discipline (Piping, Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA), Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EIC)). Duties include:

• Drafting moderate-to-complex 2D drawings, charts, schedules, etc.
• Preparing as-built drawings based on field red-line markups.
• Developing designs and layouts requiring theoretical and practical knowledge in a specialized field.
• Ensuring work complies with accuracy and time constraints.
• Potentially directing work for a small team of Junior Designers/Drafters, providing guidance and checking their work.
• Drafting 2D drawings including PFDs, P&IDs, DPDTs, MSDs, plot plans, site plans, etc.
• Drafting intelligent P&IDs using PDMS, SmartPlant, or similar software.
• Conforming to standards for data entry tasks such as tagging and object properties.
• Performing other duties as requested.

Requirements

• Technical school certification/degree or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
• Strong organizational skills, technical competence, and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet safety requirements for site visits.

Preferred

• Two years of experience in facilities engineering and design in the energy industry.
• Technical school certification/degree.
• Advanced skills in design software such as CADWorx, SmartPlant, AutoPLANT, AVEVA, and PDMS.
