Job summary

Na̱mǥis First Nation is seeking a Junior Payroll Clerk to manage bi-weekly payroll, benefits onboarding, and related government submissions. You will work under the Comptroller to ensure accurate payroll processing and strict compliance across all payroll activities.

The role emphasizes detail-oriented, collaborative work within a finance team and offers growth within payroll and accounting functions in a resilient Indigenous community.

Qualifications

• Foundational experience in payroll or accounting.
• Experience with bi-weekly payroll processing and benefits administration.
• Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable or general ledger reconciliation.
• Understanding of statutory payroll requirements (EI, CPP, taxes, WCB).
• Ability to maintain benefits/pension documentation and onboarding forms.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll and ensure timely submissions.
• Maintain payroll records and statutory reporting compliance.
• Prepare ROEs and reconcile payroll-related GL accounts.
• Onboard benefits and manage pension/extended health plan documentation.
• Coordinate with WorkSafeBC and pension submissions and reporting.
