Job summary

Okane Consultants in Calgary is seeking a motivated Junior Consultant (Mining Engineer in Training) to join our team. You will support mining projects from early planning through to relinquishment, learning from experienced staff in a collaborative environment.

You will work across geotechnical, geoscience, hydrology, and geochemistry teams, helping to design mine and tailings plans, develop schedules, and contribute to technical reports and cost estimates while growing your expertise.

Qualifications

• Registered or eligible to register as an Engineer in Training.
• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering is required.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support mine planning and closure projects from early planning through execution.
• Collaborate with geotechnical, geoscience, hydrology and geochemistry teams.
• Develop practical solutions for mine planning and life-of-mine strategies.
• Assist in field investigations and data collection for project sites.
• Contribute to proposals, technical reports and cost estimates.
