Okane Consultants in Canada is seeking an Intermediate Consultant (Geochemist) to tackle complex mine closure challenges and help create a better tomorrow across North America. The role is based in our Calgary, Saskatoon or Cranbrook offices and invites your collaborative, solution‑driven mindset.

You will work with interdisciplinary teams on diverse sites, develop practical geochemical strategies, interpret data, and advance reactive transport models while mentoring junior staff and supporting

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or post-graduate degree in geochemistry or earth sciences.
• Registered professional (P.Geo./P.Eng.) or eligible for registration in Canada.
• Experience with geochemical modelling software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design feasible mine closure plans.
• Prepare technical documents and reports for geochemistry projects.
• Evaluate metal leaching and acid rock drainage risks for waste management.
• Develop conceptual site models for mine waste geochemistry and water quality.
• Support modelling efforts and data interpretation for decision making.
