Job summary

Canadian Natural Resources Limited is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Student for a 12-month term in Calgary/Alberta. You will support the geotechnical team with design, analysis and monitoring of mining structures, tailings facilities, and reclamation projects.

The role offers hands-on experience in instrumentation, data processing, and collaboration with engineers. The position requires enrolled civil/geotechnical engineering students, strong communication, and programming aptitude.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Civil or Geotechnical/Geological engineering.
• Strong communication and networking skills.
• Experience with Python, VBA or SQL is a plus.
• Geotechnical coursework or projects are beneficial.
• Must possess a valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Collate, process and manage geotechnical instrumentation data and quality control.
• Complete daily instrument monitoring reports.
• Assist in monthly performance reporting and data visualization.
• Support design calculations and modelling under supervision.
• Coordinate with engineers and stakeholders on deliverables.
