Job summary

The Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer role at Leon’s Furniture focuses on designing and engineering HVAC and mechanical utilities for buildings. You will handle load calculations, utility assessments, energy modeling, design reports, and coordination with manufacturers and trade partners under supervision.

Ideal candidates will have an ABET-accredited degree and up to 3 years of experience, with preferred skills in Revit and AutoCAD. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Oakville, Ontario.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree required or equivalent.
• Familiarity with HVAC and mechanical utilities design for buildings preferred.
• Knowledge of energy modeling and design calculations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with clients and external partners.
• Design mechanical systems (airside, chilled water, condenser water, heating hot water, steam, natural gas, compressed air, etc.).
• Preparation of design and construction deliverables.
• Performs envelope and load calculations, pressure drop calculations, and other engineering analyses.
• Conducts basic field investigations to integrate design with existing systems and structures.
• Collaborates with architects, engineers and designers for a coordinated design.
• Self-checks own work and uses BIM software.
• May work on one or more projects simultaneously under supervision.
