Job summary

Johnson Electric in Stratford, Ontario, is seeking a Junior Manufacturing Engineering Specialist for onsite work. You will analyze, design, and improve manufacturing processes for automotive and industrial components to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs.

The role supports APQP, PFMEA, and process layout work, collaborates with Operations and Quality, and ensures compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment with a focus on Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience with APQP practices, including PFMEA and Process Flow Diagrams.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9000, and ISO 14001.
• Experience with 8D and 5 Whys problem-solving methods.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize costs.
• Support the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in the development of new and existing products and manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate and characterize the productivity of processes, equipment, and manufacturing systems.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities and problem-solving investigations.
• Support the review and development of machine and equipment layouts to enhance workflow, ergonomics, safety, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Provide technical support to Operations and Quality teams in resolving manufacturing issues.
• Develop and maintain process sheets, flow diagrams, PFMEA documentation, and control plans.
• Ensure manufacturing processes and equipment comply with engineering standards and health and safety requirements.
• Prepare, revise, and maintain operational documents and technical standards.
• Support compliance with automotive quality standards, including IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, SPC, and MSA.
