Job summary

Johnson Electric in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Quality Engineering Specialist to drive continuous improvement, lead PFMEA, and support quality planning across manufacturing.

You will implement digital quality systems, analyze real-time data, and lead Cp/Cpk studies to boost process performance while ensuring QMS compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001. Cross-functional collaboration and hands-on problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a materials/engineering field.
  • 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in metal or powder metallurgy.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, processes and analytical techniques.
  • Experience with SPC, Minitab, JMP.
  • Experience with advanced quality systems and data analytics platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills; able to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to work independently and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis for quality issues.
  • Drive Design for Quality and risk mitigation activities.
  • Lead PFMEA and other quality planning tools.
  • Implement and improve digital quality systems with real-time analytics.
  • Design and execute capability studies (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk).
  • Analyze process data to detect trends and prevent instability.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to improve capability and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to QMS, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.
  • Lead internal and supplier audits and support investigations.
  • Act as quality interface with customers and support CAPA activities.
  • Develop and maintain Control Plans and inspection strategies.
  • Ensure measurement system capability (MSA) and effective inspection methods.
  • Provide hands-on support in production for troubleshooting.
