Job description

Join to apply for the Junior Financial and Planning Analyst role at PPG.

As a Junior Financial and Planning Analyst, you will be part of a dynamic team supporting the Finance Manager in activities such as forecasting, budgeting, monthly closing, and other initiatives/projects across approximately 240 company-owned stores in 18 markets in Canada, along with around 3,000 dealers and several national retailers.

You will collaborate closely with zone directors, regional sales managers, store group managers, real estate, and marketing teams in a continually evolving environment. Your contribution will be vital to the success of The Pittsburgh Paints Company (PPC) by maintaining a positive, collaborative, and high-performance team environment. You will report to the Finance Manager, Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist with the monthly closing process to ensure timely and accurate results.
  2. Manage daily and weekly CA Trade Sales reporting, along with other monthly performance reports for Supply Chain, Technical Services, and Selling Teams.
  3. Participate actively in forecasting and annual budgeting processes.
  4. Prepare requests related to store lease renewals, new or relocated stores, and capital investments.
  5. Coordinate activities related to rebates and incentive programs for CA Stores and publicity co-op incentives for CA Dealers.
  6. Collaborate with the Planning team on S&OP forecast updates.
  7. Provide ad hoc analyses, including commission targets, modeling, and profitability analysis for authorized agents.
  8. Develop, control, and maintain financial reports, forms, worksheets, and forecasts.
  9. Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners such as global business services, marketing, pricing, customer service, credit, and supply chain.
  10. Focus on continuous improvement of business processes and support strategic projects.
  11. Perform other related tasks as assigned.
  12. Support internal controls by engaging with auditors and providing accurate, timely information.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field with 1+ years of experience.
  • CPA or candidate preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Excel and aptitude for learning new software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
