The Planning Analyst ensures the proper allocation of merchandise according to brand, sales, inventory trend and forecast including RTVs (Return to Vendor) and consolidations, and supports the creation and use of analytical information to drive inventory actions and profit

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Build effective partnerships with internal contacts e.g. buyers, stores and supply chain
  • Execute accurate and timely allocations that reflect the store matrix, sales plans and marketing initiatives
  • Ensure RTVs are executed and monitored to ensure the process is completed effectively and on time
  • Manage and execute consolidations and replenishment to maximize sell-through across all channels/locations
  • Analyze detailed performance and provide recommendations on matrix and inventory to improve full price sell-through
  • and profit
  • Share analytical information, commentary and reporting to support buying, planning and cross-functional inventory

  • Participate in the planning and forecasting process to align the detailed inventory opportunities
  • Assist in the preparation of recode and markdown proposals
  • Develop knowledge and understanding through communication and merchandise discussions with Buying and Store teams
  • Assist in the development of processes, systems and reports
  • Take the opportunity to participate in and champion recommended projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of successful experience in a merchandise planning related role
  • Excellent financial acumen, strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated influencing skills with the ability to get things done
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Confident and effective written & verbal communicator
  • Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and use of ERP and Merchandise Planning systems
  • Passionate about fashion and luxury retail
