• The main processing plant in Brooks, Alberta, harvesting and processing about 4,200 cattle daily.

Note: This role is based at our head office in Calgary, Alberta.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or business administration
• Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
• Strong critical thinking, analysis, and reasoning skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Attention to detail
• Strong work ethic, integrity, confidence, and decisiveness
• 1+ years of administrative support experience preferred
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

Responsibilities:

• Communicate professionally via phone, email, and written correspondence
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures and ensure internal controls
• Complete data entry, reporting, and spreadsheet updates
• Gather and verify information from required sources
• Identify root causes of issues and suggest process improvements
• Perform daily filing and administrative tasks
• Analyze situations independently and employ best practices to solve problems
• Cross-train within the department to strengthen team capabilities
• Investigate claims and deductions, and enforce deduction policies
• Review employee deductions for accuracy and proper coding
• Provide excellent customer service and decision-making to mitigate losses
• Gather documentation to determine liability quickly
• Update invoice information in JBS accounting system (DMS)
• Use Excel pivot tables and formulas for data tracking and analysis
• Identify trends and develop conclusions on claims/issues
• Review legal documentation and contractual compliance
• Communicate JBS guidelines to relevant parties
• Learn and adapt to new business areas to reduce costs

Compensation: Competitive wage

Applicants will need to pass a pre-hire medical and drug/alcohol test. Employment is conditional upon passing these tests.
