Join Our Team

We are seeking a Junior Environmental Planner to work on Transportation and Municipal Infrastructure projects in southwestern Ontario. If you are passionate about environmental planning and eager to contribute to impactful projects, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Municipal Transportation and Water/Wastewater Class Environmental Assessments (EAs).
  • Prepare documentation for municipal and provincial (MTO, Metrolinx) Class EAs.
  • Assist in preparing proposals for various pursuits.
  • Collaborate with RVA’s Environmental Planners and other technical staff on studies and documentation.
  • Coordinate with sub-consultants, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Lead public consultations and stakeholder engagement, including Indigenous Communities.
  • Analyze input from multidisciplinary teams and recommend solutions.
  • Occasional travel to project sites and offices throughout southwestern Ontario.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in geography, environmental studies/science, planning, or related field.
  • 1-3 years’ experience with Municipal, Provincial, and Transit EAs in Ontario.
  • Strong technical, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Teams, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; GIS experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Transportation, Transit, and Municipal Infrastructure.
  • Professional designation such as EP, RPP, or MCIP is preferred.
  • Understanding of environmental policies, legislation, and laws at local, provincial, and federal levels.
  • Driver’s license for site and office travel is an asset.
