Johnson Electric in Mississauga, ON, is seeking a Junior Engineering Specialist – Co-op (Quality) to support manufacturing processes, QC initiatives, and product development. The role focuses on data-driven quality improvements and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will prepare SPC reports, analyze production data with JMP, and assist in developing standardized work instructions while supporting ISO/IATF quality standards.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of a Manufacturing Engineering or related Engineering program.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented manufacturing environment.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data analysis tools.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment installations, and product development activities.
• Prepare Statistical Process Control (SPC) reports and analyze production data using statistical software such as JMP.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve process capability, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Provide technical support for tooling, equipment, processes, and product-related issues.
• Participate in cross-functional team meetings to help resolve quality, operational, safety, and production concerns.
• Assist in the development of standardized work instructions and process documentation.
• Support compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, quality, and EHS requirements.
