Job summary

Atlantic Towing seeks a Junior Engineer to join its Offshore fleet. The role focuses on maintaining a safe Engine Room watch, monitoring machinery performance, and carrying out planned maintenance under the Chief Engineer’s guidance.

You will supervise Oilers, support safety procedures, and maintain critical records while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and the company’s safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Certification appropriate to propulsion power type and STCW 95 endorsement.
  • Marine Emergency Duties.
  • Transport Canada Marine Medical.
  • Marine First Aid and CPR.
  • H2S Alive.
  • WHMIS.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate.
  • Vessel Personnel with Security Responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and efficient Engine Room watch and monitor machinery performance.
  • Perform planned maintenance as per vessel’s program and Chief Engineer’s instructions.
  • Supervise Oilers on watch to ensure station tasks are completed.
  • Carry out safety procedures assigned by Chief Engineer.
  • Maintain records of spare parts used and report to Chief Engineer.
  • Ensure areas and equipment are kept clean and compliant with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Contribute to Atlantic Towing’s Safety culture and follow Safety Management System processes.
  • Understand pollution regulations and company environmental objectives.

Atlantic Towing is seeking a Junior Engineer to join their Offshore fleet.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and efficient Engine Room watch and monitor machinery performance in accordance with applicable regulations, Chief Engineer’s standing orders and company policies and procedures, and maintenance of the Engine Room Logbook
  • Perform pertinent planned maintenance activities in accordance with the vessel’s program, as instructed by the Chief Engineer
  • Supervise the Oilers assigned to his/her watch, ensuring that cleaning station tasks are performed
  • Carrying out safety procedures assigned by the Chief Engineer
  • Maintain a record of spare parts used and report to the Chief Engineer
  • Ensure that areas and equipment are maintained in a clean condition and that positive action is taken in all cases to ensure that operations conform to regulatory requirements and company policies
  • Contribute to ATL’s Safety culture by:
  • Understand and comply with various safety processes within the Safety Management System;
  • Possess the skills to perform job related tasks and apply safe practices while performing physical tasks;
  • Have a thorough understanding of precautions and procedures related to the Safety Management System;
  • Have thorough understanding of pollution regulations and the company’s objectives regarding environmental protection.
