Job summary

Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation in Calgary is seeking a Junior Developer to support the development, deployment, and maintenance of digital products powering operations, customer experiences, and internal tools.

You will collaborate with analytics, technology, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable digital solutions across departments, including ticketing, venue operations, entertainment, marketing, and BI.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in software development or web development.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript ecosystems and Python.
• Familiarity with React or Next.js.
• Basic understanding of software architecture, APIs, and cloud-based apps.
• Knowledge of security best practices, backups, and system maintenance.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and deployment of digital products, including web apps, dashboards, and internal tools.
• Build and maintain digital solutions for ticketing, venue ops, entertainment, marketing, BI, and customer platforms.
• Maintain and support websites, applications, and other digital touchpoints for performance and usability.
• Implement new features, improvements, and bug fixes across platforms.
• Contribute to modern web apps using current frameworks and technologies.
• Integrate data services, APIs, and third-party platforms into digital products.
• Support infrastructure and environments used to deploy and operate digital applications.
• Ensure security, compliance, and development best practices.
• Monitor performance and reliability; resolve technical issues.
• Manage backups, version control, and recovery processes.
• Document system architecture and deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Leverage AI-tools to improve development efficiency and product capabilities.
• Stay current on emerging AI technologies and development practices.
