Cenovus Energy in Calgary is seeking an entry‑level Software and AI Developer to join our AI Development team. You will own end‑to‑end product development, build production‑grade software, and apply AI in real workflows under mentorship.

The role is based in downtown Calgary and offers growth through pairing with senior engineers and code reviews. You will collaborate with product leads and domain experts to translate business problems into practical software solutions, while learning core

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
1–3 years of software development experience including relevant projects or internships.
Experience with modern full‑stack frameworks and AI‑enabled development is valued.
Understanding of APIs, databases, testing, version control and secure delivery.

Responsibilities

Build Production Software: Create full‑stack, production‑grade applications used by business and field teams.
Product Development Ownership: Own the end‑to‑end product development with stakeholders and engineers.
Learn End‑to‑End Delivery: Participate in problem definition, design, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
Apply AI in Practice: Integrate generative AI, analytics, and automation into real workflows under guidance.
Translate Business Problems: Work with domain experts to turn operational problems into working software.
Develop Engineering Foundations: Write clean, testable code; learn system design and secure practices.
