Job description

Position Overview

This individual is responsible for the planning and purchasing of raw material supporting production at ITS facility. This position will manage select suppliers to ensure on-time delivery at competitive pricing while managing inventory levels to prevent shortages.

Position Duties

1. Review and understand requisition requirements.
2. Issue requests for quotes/proposals (RFQ/RFP) & select best source based on compliance with technical requirements, cost, quality, and delivery requirement.
3. Price negotiation and purchasing of various electronic components, mechanical parts, and other materials used in electronic assembly.
4. Establish delivery schedules for suppliers and monitor progress.
5. Generate Purchase Orders to suppliers.
6. Follow-up and expedite supplier deliveries.
7. Manage supplier relationships.
8. Serve as a link between Planning, Receiving, Quality, and Manufacturing.
9. Competent using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word programs.
10. Must be “hands-on” with strong problem-solving expertise.
11. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

Essential Qualifications

1. 1-2 years experience with purchasing of electronics components, preferably with experience from Printed Circuit Board Assembly.
2. Enthusiastic, detail and solution-oriented, task-focused, self-motivated.
3. Able to work under minimal supervision.
4. Good oral and written communication skills.
