Job summary

BDO Canada is seeking a Junior Accountant for its Calgary Assurance team starting in September 2027. You will apply coursework knowledge to prepare working papers, financial statements, and notices to reader, while building client relationships and participating in business development.

You will develop professionally toward CPA designation with support for study leave and exam reimbursement, while contributing to a collaborative, inclusive workplace that values integrity and high-quality client

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or diploma required with CPA prerequisites.
• Desire to provide outstanding client service and commit to teamwork.
• Proven leadership and ability to take initiative.
• Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently utilize technical knowledge from courses to carry out work projects and assignments.
• Prepare and complete working papers, financial statements, and notice to reader engagements per regulatory standards.
• Gather evidence for Assurance and Accounting engagements.
• Build positive working relationships with clients and respond to requests and suggestions.
• Participate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities with existing clients.
• Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues.
