Kootenay Savings Credit Union is seeking a junior AI/ML engineer to support digital transformation in a regulated financial services environment. The role focuses on developing and deploying AI/ML models, data preparation, and integrating AI solutions with existing core systems and the Microsoft technology stack, including APIs and Azure services.

With hands-on learning in AI/ML, cloud platforms, and responsible AI practices, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related field with significant AI/ML focus.
• Certifications in AI/ML or Azure AI considered an asset.
• 2+ years in software development, data science or AI/ML engineering.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and regulated industries.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, testing, and deploying AI/ML models to support business objectives.
• Prepare datasets through data cleaning and feature engineering.
• Participate in prompt engineering and tuning of LLMs and generative AI solutions.
• Integrate AI solutions with existing systems via APIs and Azure services.
• Build and maintain serverless AI workflows using Azure Functions.
