Junior Accounting Clerk

Ready to launch your career in accounting? Our Client, a well-established firm, is seeking a Junior Accounting Clerk to join their team. The role requires 1-2 years of clerical accounting experience, and familiarity with Soluno software is a plus. This hybrid position includes 2 days in-office per week, perfect for someone who enjoys both flexibility and collaboration while working with numbers and organization. Salary: Up to $42K

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the preparation of various informational reports;
  2. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner;
  3. Preparation of various bank deposits;
  4. Preparation of client invoices;
  5. Review and reconcile invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports;
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation;
  7. Process client/vendor payments: EFT’s, online bill payments, wire transfers & manual cheques;
  8. Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues;
  9. Perform general administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, maintaining financial databases;
  10. Assist with other tasks and projects as they arise;
  11. Provide backup for other members in the Accounting Department.

Qualifications

  1. 1-2+ years experience in clerical accounting required;
  2. Post-secondary education in accounting would be an asset;
  3. Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures;
  4. Strong numeric and data entry skills;
  5. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; Soluno experience would be an asset;
  6. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy;
  7. Strong organizational and time management skills;
  8. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion;
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  10. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
  11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  12. High level of interpersonal skills;
  13. Knowledge of relevant accounting standards.
