Junior Accounting Clerk

The role requires 1-2 years of clerical accounting experience, and familiarity with Soluno software is a plus. Salary: Up to $42K

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of various informational reports;
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner;
  • Preparation of various bank deposits;
  • Preparation of client invoices;
  • Review and reconcile invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports;
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation;
  • Process client/vendor payments: EFTs, online bill payments, wire transfers & manual cheques;
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues;
  • Perform general administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, maintaining financial databases;
  • Assist with other tasks and projects as they arise; and
  • Provide backup for other members in the Accounting Department.

Qualifications

  • 1-2+ years experience in clerical accounting required;
  • Post-secondary education in accounting would be an asset;
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures;
  • Strong numeric and data entry skills;
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; Soluno experience would be an asset;
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • High level of interpersonal skills; and
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting standards.
