R.V. Anderson Associates Limited in Toronto is seeking a Junior Accountant to join the Finance team to support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and project-related financial administration in a multidisciplinary engineering consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary accounting/finance education or equivalent experience.
• 0–3+ years in accounting (co‑op/internship or entry).
• Solid understanding of double‑entry bookkeeping.
• Strong Excel skills; familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint is a plus.
• High attention to detail, able to meet deadlines in a project-based environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication; able to work across teams.
• Interest in pursuing a CPA designation is an asset.
• Alignment with RVA values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Process and code AP invoices and expense claims; support AR activities including cash application and invoicing.
• Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations; resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and month-end/year-end close tasks.
• Support project accounting activities: track costs, review time/expenses, assist billing.
• Maintain the general ledger and schedules; ensure timely recording per controls.
• Prepare basic financial reports; support audit/document requests.
• Contribute to process improvements and ad-hoc finance projects.
