Job summary

The Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Junior Accountant/Bookkeeper to support accounts receivable, accounts payable, and collections, with opportunities to learn additional responsibilities over time. This entry-level role is perfect for someone with a solid foundation in accounting principles and a detail-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Certificate, diploma, or post-secondary coursework in Accounting, Business Administration, Bookkeeping, or a related field.
• Foundational understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and accounting-related software.
• Professional communication skills, including the confidence to follow up with customers regarding outstanding accounts.
• Motivated to learn, take direction, and develop within an accounting environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment processing, and maintaining accurate customer accounts.
• Follow up on outstanding accounts and make professional collection calls as required.
• Support accounts payable processes, including invoice entry, coding, and payment preparation.
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Assist with account reconciliations and other general accounting functions.
• Take on additional accounting responsibilities and processes as training and experience progress.
