About The Role

We are currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join our accounting team. Reporting to a senior accountant, you will assist in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax return preparation for clients across a variety of industries, including subsidiaries of international companies.

Your Responsibilities

Bookkeeping and Financial Reporting

• Perform bookkeeping for subsidiaries of international companies (cash, purchases, sales, payroll, fixed assets, taxes, capital)
• Post period-end journal entries (cut-off)
• Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports
  
  

Tax Compliance

• Prepare federal and provincial sales tax returns (GST/QST and others)
• Assist in the preparation of corporate tax returns for various client types
• Participate in basic compilation engagements for small businesses
  
  

Quality and Accuracy

• Identify accounting errors or irregularities in client-prepared records
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial information
  
  

Your Skills And Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Diploma or degree in accounting or management
• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or corporate setting
• Familiarity with Caseware and Taxprep software is an asset
  
  

Technical And Organizational Skills

• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple files in a fast-paced environment
  
  

Client Relations and Communication

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with clients
• Proficiency in French and English to effectively interact with all our clients in Quebec and beyond.
