Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a qualified Jumbo Drill operator for the Meadowbank Complex. You will contribute to safe development and production by operating the jumbo and related equipment, inspecting work areas, and following drawings and specifications.

The role requires substantial experience with jumbo drilling, underground certification is a plus, and explosives permitting may be required. You will work 14/14 rotation with accommodations on site provided.

Qualifications

• Certification on Jumbo required.
• 4000 hours of manual Jumbo experience.
• NAC or DEP in Mineral Extraction.
• Underground certification or equivalent is an asset.
• Explosives permit or approval letter required.
• Certification on other equipment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate Jumbo Drill Rig.
• Proceed with daily equipment inspection.
• Inspect working environment and scaling rocks.
• Drill holes according to drawings and specifications.
• Ensure health and safety requirements are met.
• Operate other equipment in development or production category as required.
• Obtain certification on other equipment as required.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Supervisor, Underground Mine, you will be part of the Mine Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

• Operate Jumbo Drill Rig;
• Proceed with daily equipment inspection;
• Inspect your working environment, including scaling rocks;
• Drill the holes according to drawings and specifications;
• Ensure health and safety requirements are met;
• Operate other equipment associated with the development or production category, as required;
• Obtain certification on other equipment associated to the development or production category, as required.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Certification on Jumbo;
• 4000 hours of experience on a manual Jumbo;
• NAC Certification or DEP in Mineral Extraction, or equivalent;
• Underground certification or equivalent, such as Mining Modules and Common Core are an asset;
• Valid approval letter under the explosives regulations or equivalent, such as explosive permit;

Certification on other equipment in the development category such as Bolter, Development Loading Unit and Production Scoop 12yds will be an asset.

Note that the official working language at our Meadowbank Complex is English.

YOUR WORK SCHEDULE

• Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
• Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
