Job summary

• Ability to use diagnostic software, electronic service tools and basic computer functions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and contribute within a team environment.
• Commitment to professional development and ongoing technical training.
• Experience with John Deere and competitive products is an asset.
• Journeyperson Agricultural Technician certification or equivalent in a mechanical field.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, inspect, repair and maintain equipment with a commitment to customer support and quality workmanship.
• Use diagnostic tools, software and technology to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems and complete complex repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service according to manufacturer specifications.
• Complete repairs accurately and efficiently while maintaining service documentation.
• Maintain knowledge of John Deere agriculture products and other equipment supported by the dealership.
• Participate in manufacturer, dealer-led and technical training programs to develop skills.
• Work closely with Service, Parts and other technicians to support customers and complete work.

This shop has several areas of focus and is currently looking to add to their team of experienced Journeyperson Ag mechanics. Certification in other related fields + experience in shop and on the road may be considered. Shift may rotate and include days/evenings/weekends/modified work week.

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience performing agricultural equipment, automotive, heavy equipment, powersports, construction, or related complex mechanical repairs
• Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and powertrain components
• Ability to use diagnostic software, electronic service tools, and basic computer functions
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and contribute within a team environment
• Commitment to professional development and ongoing technical training
• Experience with John Deere and competitive products is a definite asset
• Candidates ideally will possess a Journeyperson Agricultural Technician certification or equivalent in a mechanical field (i.e. Heavy Equipment, Automotive)
