Job description

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Knowledge of equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, valves, conveyors, augers, etc.
  2. Inspection, disassembly, reassembly, installation, adjustment, and maintenance of mechanical equipment on site.
  3. Troubleshoot mechanical issues to identify problems and resolve them.
  4. Safe lifting of large oversized industrial parts used in the industry.
  5. Working knowledge and use of a micrometer, calipers, dial indicators, and other tools necessary to measure and set required tolerances.
  6. Knowledge of pump alignment including use of alignment tools.
  7. Proactive pre-use inspection of tools and equipment.
  8. Read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and operation & maintenance manuals.
  9. Work well as part of a team or independently to ensure customer needs are met in the required timeline without compromising safety.
  10. Continuously drive safety and accountability.
  11. Completion of site-specific documentation, permits, and other customer paperwork as necessary.
  12. Develop inspection reports documenting inspection data and findings.
  13. Participate and coordinate site project kick-offs where required.
  14. Interface with the customer and provide professional and courteous feedback in a timely manner.
  15. Ensure the safety of self and others.
  16. Compliance with company safety procedures and legal obligations.
  17. Recognize, report, and resolve all hazards.
  18. Intervene where unsafe practices are identified.
  19. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of Grade 12 education.
  2. Hold a Red Seal Millwright trade ticket.
  3. Previous related industrial experience, especially within a good manufacturing environment, would be considered an asset, but is not required.
  4. Knowledge of troubleshooting and maintaining pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
  5. Strong mechanical aptitude and work ethic.
  6. Working knowledge of mechanical systems including but not limited to pumps, bearings, gearboxes, motors, alignments, lubrication, and vibration analysis.
  7. Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks with a keen sense of urgency in a safe environment.
  8. Data entry: Must be able to maintain accurate record keeping.
