Job summary

Finning Canada is hiring multiple Heavy Duty Mechanics for the BC Mobile Team. You will troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment in field and shop settings across BC and the Yukon, supporting customer needs with a strong service mindset.

Ideal candidates hold Interprovincial HET certification, with 3+ years in field truck work, a valid driver's license and a willingness to obtain additional certifications. Union membership applies, and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification (On-Road & Off Road)
• Dual Tickets will be an asset
• 3+ years demonstrated experience in a Field Truck
• Valid driver’s license with a recent clean abstract

Responsibilities

• Field diagnosis and running repairs of Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar equipment in field environments (possible remote locations)
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, timely manner to ensure value for work performed
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using testing equipment to determine repair scope
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
• Complete service reports, warranty and crossover notes
• Interact with customers, sales support and Finning team

Job Description:

Take on a role where your skills and passion keep equipment moving. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic with the BC Mobile Team, you’ll troubleshoot and perform running repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and perform preventative maintenance across a wide range of Caterpillar Equipment in both a shop and field environment.

Your work will include:

• Field diagnosis and running repairs of Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar equipment, in field environment (possibility of remote locations)

• Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.

• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required

• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily

• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)

• Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team

Qualifications:

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification(On-Road & Off Road)

• Dual Tickets will be an asset

• 3+ years demonstrated experience in a Field Truck

• Valid driver’s license with a successful recent driver abstract

• Shift is 14 x 14
