Job Description:

Major Job Functions

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair tasks on product lines ranging from construction tools, small engine equipment such as compaction equipment, pumps, to compact construction equipment in a field environment.
• Interface with customers in the field on service calls.
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily.
• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes).
• Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team.
• Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required.

Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement.

Specific Skills & Experience

• Interprovincial Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification.
• Valid driver’s license with a recent successful drivers abstract.
• Good understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Thorough knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine electronic management systems.
• Safety-conscious team player.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Technical knowledge to perform service tasks on our product line, including construction tools, small engine equipment, pumps, compact construction equipment (e.g., mini excavators and skid steers), aerial work platforms, and diesel generators (8 KW to 200 KW).
