Job description

Position Summary

Journeyperson Electricians possess the full range of knowledge required to install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for various purposes, including climate control, security, lighting, power sources, and communications. With shops in Calgary, Fort Saskatchewan, Bonnyville, and Saskatoon, the E&I team works on local projects as well as site projects throughout Western Canada.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Journeyperson or Red Seal Electrician certificate
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing

Core Accountabilities

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications for industrial electrical installations
• Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cables, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components
• Test electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
• Maintain, repair, install, and test switchgear, transformers, meters, regulators, and reactors
• Maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, generators, batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic control systems
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems
• Conduct preventive maintenance and keep records
• May install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices
