Position Summary

Journeyperson Electricians possess the full range of knowledge required to install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for various purposes, including climate control, security, lighting, power sources, and communications. With shops in Calgary, Fort Saskatchewan, Bonnyville, and Saskatoon, the E&I team works on local projects as well as site projects throughout Western Canada.

Position Details

• Calgary-based work
• 5/2 shift
• 10-hour days
• Candidates not local to Calgary must be willing to travel at their own expense

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Journeyperson or Red Seal Electrician certificate
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing

Core Accountabilities

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layouts of industrial electrical equipment installations
• Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components
• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
• Maintain, repair, install, and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors
• Maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and related devices
• Conduct preventive maintenance and keep records
• May install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices
