Job summary

Kal Tire in Whitehorse, Yukon is hiring a Journeyperson Automotive Service Technician to perform routine maintenance and complex repairs on a range of vehicles. This full-time, permanent role offers a stable schedule and the chance to work in a well-equipped shop.

You will mentor apprentices, uphold safety and quality standards, and collaborate with a skilled team on brakes, suspensions, diagnostics, and wheel alignments. A Canadian work-ready status and Red Seal license are required.

Qualifications

• Fully licensed as Automotive Service Technician (Journeyperson) or Red Seal.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with brakes, suspensions, and wheel alignments.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent attention to detail and methodical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of mechanical services including brake and suspension repairs, engine diagnostics, and routine maintenance.
• Mentor and coach apprentices, supporting their skill development in a learning-focused environment.
• Collaborate with a team on vehicles from standard passenger cars to light trucks.
• Identify potential service opportunities in partnership with the Sales team.
• Maintain high safety and quality standards in all tasks.

Qualifications

• Fully licensed as an Automotive Service Technician (Journeyperson/Journeyman or Red Seal certified).

• Brings a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with front-end brakes, shocks, and wheel alignments.
• Experienced in performing inspections, diagnostics, adjustments, servicing, and repairs on a variety of vehicles.
• Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
