Pembina Pipeline Corporation is actively hiring an Interprovincial Tradesman to join our team in Alberta. The role supports Alliance Canada South operations with duties at compressor stations, block valves, and associated equipment.

Travel and overnight stays may be required; the preferred base is Wainwright, AB. The position requires a Journeyman certification and 5+ years of industrial experience, with assets in high‑voltage systems, PLCs, and SAP usage.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related industrial work experience.
• Interprovincial Journeyman certification in Electrical, Instrumentation, Millwright, Heavy Duty Mechanic, or equivalent trade preferred.
• Experience with medium- or high-voltage systems, PLC programming, and industrial control systems is an asset.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting rotating equipment and gas compression systems is an asset.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; experience with SAP is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety culture and Life Saving Rules; ensure compliance and risk awareness.
• Complete maintenance and operations duties safely per procedures and regulations.
• Perform routine pipeline operations and maintenance, including troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
• Locate and mark facilities per Damage Prevention Program and One-Call procedures.
• Provide oversight to ensure asset protection and compliant excavation activities.
• Provide training and mentorship to staff and support succession planning.

Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation is actively hiring an Interprovincial Tradesman to join our team in the Irma area. This opportunity is open to candidates from a broad range of standard industrial trade backgrounds, including Instrumentation, Electrical or Mechanical disciplines. Reporting to the Alliance Heartland Region Foreman, this role supports the Alliance Canada South operational area within
Pembina’s Operations division.

Pembina has expanded its asset base through the acquisition of key natural gas and refined product infrastructure, providing customers with access to high‑value markets under long‑term, fee‑for‑service contracts. The Alliance Pipeline part of the Transmission & Extraction Operations assets is a 3,848‑kilometre (2,391‑mile) integrated system connecting Canada and the U.S., transporting rich natural gas from the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and Williston Basin to the Chicago hub.

This role performs hands‑on operations and maintenance activities at compressor stations, block valves, pipeline facilities, and related electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical equipment. As part of a field‑based operations team, the successful candidate will support day‑to‑day reliability, troubleshooting, asset protection, regulatory compliance, and after‑hours response across the operating area. The primary reporting location and day‑to‑day work will be within the Alliance Canada South area, although some travel will be required to support the broader Alliance asset as operational needs arise.

Applications are welcome from candidates residing in Wainwright, Irma, or Edmonton area, along the pipeline ROW; however, the Wainwright area is the preferred base location for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Champion Pembina’s Zero by Choice safety culture and Life Saving Rules by embedding physical, psychological, and cyber safety into all work practices while taking personal accountability to maintain compliance, support audit readiness, proactively identify risks, and protect our people, assets, and data;
• Ensure all maintenance and operations duties are completed safely, in compliance with Pembina’s procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices;
• Routine pipeline operations and maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, repair of Compressor stations, block valves, electrical, and mechanical equipment;
• Locating and marking Alliance facilities per Pembina’s Damage Prevention Program and One-Call procedures prior to and during excavation;
• Provide oversight and inspection to ensure asset protection and compliance with company procedures of excavation activities near pipeline facilities;
• Provide appropriate training and leadership to develop and mentor staff, and support the succession planning initiatives of the business;
• Participate in a weekly call out rotation responding to after hour call outs due to equipment and/or operational problems;
• A willingness to work overtime and overnight travel to other Alliance work locations on an as needed basis; and
• Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of related industrial work experience;
• Interprovincial Journeyman certification in Electrical, Instrumentation, Millwright, Heavy Duty Mechanic, or an equivalent trade certification preferred;
• Experience with medium- or high-voltage systems, PLC programming, and industrial control systems is considered an asset;
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting rotating equipment, natural gas compression systems, and associated facility equipment is considered an asset;
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with hands‑on experience using a variety of computer applications, including SAP, considered an asset;
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, building strong working relationships with Operations, Engineering, and Technical Support teams;
• Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and the ability to perform work safely and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment;
• Results‑driven professional with strong problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and decision‑making skills, and the ability to adapt effectively to changing priorities; and
• Valid driver's license.

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre‑Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites.
