Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Journeyperson Plumber to operate facility systems and perform preventative maintenance in Barrie, ON. The role requires a valid Journeyman Plumbing license and a Certificate of Qualification, with at least 5 years of experience in residential and commercial settings.

You will read blueprints, install and repair piping, valves, and fixtures, and ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety standards while providing excellent client service.

Qualifications

• Proven plumbing experience: minimum 5 years as a licensed plumber.
• Must hold Journeyman level plumbing license and valid Certificate of Qualification.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings and specs for piping systems.
• Commitment to safety, codes and environmental requirements.
• Willing to perform preventative and corrective maintenance and on-call work.

Responsibilities

• Determines piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
• Measures, cuts, threads and bends pipes as required.
• Interprets blueprints to map plumbing layouts in residential/commercial buildings.
• Installs, replaces and repairs valves, pumps, fixtures, and piping.
• Tests pipes for leaks and compliance with codes.
• Performs routine maintenance and monitors facility plumbing systems.
• Responds to service requests and maintains asset integrity.
