Job summary

Broadstreet Properties is seeking a Full Time Permanent Journeyman Plumber in Calgary, Alberta to maintain and repair plumbing systems across our multi-family residential communities. This position offers stable, year-round work with a defined workload and reliable income.

You will handle service calls, maintenance programs, tests, stock parts, and document maintenance. Journeyman certification and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Plumber certification is required.
  • Journeyman/Journeyperson Plumber experience.
  • Experience with boilers, hot water tanks and make up air units.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean abstract.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel within Calgary region and occasional southern sites.

Responsibilities

  • Tend to service calls.
  • Tend to maintenance and preventative maintenance programs, including cleaning of all plumbing equipment.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • Maintain a supply of regularly used parts and filters in stock, ordering replenishment as necessary.
  • Propose changes or modifications to plans to enhance operation and efficiency of systems.
  • Develop goals and priorities; assign tasks and projects.
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniques.
  • Train site staff on mechanical systems.

Your contribution to the team includes:
  • Tend to service calls
  • Tend to the maintenance and preventative maintenance programs, including maintaining and cleaning of all plumbing equipment
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Maintain a supply of regularly used parts and filters in stock, ordering replenishment as necessary
  • Propose changes or modifications to plans to enhance operation and efficiency of systems plans and specifications for sanitation facilities
  • Develop goals and priorities; assign tasks and projects
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniques
  • Train site staff on mechanical systems
What you need to be successful:
  • Red Seal Plumber certification
  • Experience as a Journeyman/Journeyperson Plumber
  • Experience servicing boilers, hot water tanks and make up air units
  • Possess a valid driver's license and clean drivers abstract
  • Effective communication both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work well independently under pressure in a busy environment
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Able to travel across the Calgary region
  • Able to travel once in a while to other southern sites like medicine, hat, or Lethbridge
