Job summary

Precision Drilling Corporation is seeking a Registered Red Seal Journeyman Millwright with 4–6+ years of industrial mechanical experience to join our Calgary team. The role emphasizes safety, precision maintenance, and hands‑on diagnostics of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems.

The candidate will assemble, test, and commission equipment, coach apprentices, and work in a collaborative, safety‑driven environment. Strong communication and independent work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Red Seal Journeyman Millwright with a completed four‑year apprenticeship or equivalent trade experience.
• 4–6+ years of industrial mechanical experience in a service‑oriented environment.
• Strong commitment to safety with knowledge of OHS, WHMIS, and proper PPE use.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, align, test, and commission equipment to precise tolerances.
• Perform predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance including vibration analysis and lubrication.
• Diagnose, service, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC‑controlled systems.
• Operate machining, hoisting, and lifting equipment; maintain safe, clean shop conditions.
• Mentor apprentices and follow supervisory direction while working independently or in a team.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

• Assemble, install, align, test, and commission newly fabricated oilfield and mechanical equipment to precise tolerances
• Perform predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance, including vibration analysis, inspections, lubrication, and component replacement
• Diagnose, service, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC ‑ controlled systems using blueprints and schematics
• Operate machining, hoisting, and lifting equipment; conduct precision measurements; maintain safe, clean, and organized shop conditions
• Work safely and collaboratively with a positive attitude, producing high ‑ quality work from engineering drawings with minimal defects and mentoring apprentices as needed

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• Registered Red Seal Journeyman Millwright with a completed four ‑ year apprenticeship or equivalent trade experience (minimum 72 months / 9,360 hours)
• 4–6+ years of industrial mechanical experience in a service ‑ oriented environment
• Strong commitment to safety, with solid knowledge of OHS regulations, WHMIS, and proper PPE use
• Self ‑ motivated, detail ‑ oriented professional with a strong work ethic and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to mentor apprentices and follow supervisory direction while working independently or as part of a team
